Our Journey

Sourcing Natural Wool

We begin by sourcing pure, natural sheep’s wool directly from trusted local herders in Morocco’s Atlas communities. Each fleece is carefully selected for softness, strength, and the lasting quality our rugs are known for.

Washing & Air-Drying

The raw wool is thoroughly washed to remove dust and natural impurities, then carefully dried in the open air. This professional process preserves the fiber’s softness, resilience, and authentic character.

Hand-Spinning the Yarn

Skilled women artisans card and spin the prepared wool by hand, transforming loose fibers into strong, even yarn. Their experience and attention to detail give every rug its distinctive handmade texture.

Creating Natural Dyes

We prepare rich, plant-based colors from madder root, pomegranate peel, henna, walnut husks, onion skins, and other natural materials. These traditional recipes create warm, nuanced tones with beautiful organic variation.

Dyeing the Wool

The hand-spun yarn is dyed in carefully measured batches to match the selected design palette. Our artisans monitor every stage so the colors develop evenly while retaining the subtle variations of natural dyeing.

Weaving the Rug by Hand

Finally, the rug is handwoven on a traditional loom according to a precise plan created for the chosen design. Knot by knot, skilled artisans shape the pattern, proportions, and texture into a one-of-a-kind Moroccan rug.
